Recruitment FAQ

Q: How can I sign up to do formal rush?

A: Click here.

Q: What is the schedule for WKU formal rush?

A: Spring 2017 Rush is the second week of the semester: Jan. 30 to Feb. 3. Visit https://www.wku.edu/wkugreeks/documents/greekbook16.pdf for the Greek Recruitment Handbook for more details on recruitment.

Q:What are my responsibilities as a new member?

A: As a pledge brother, you will be required to meet once a week with your pledge class to learn the history of the fraternity and our chapter. Furthermore, you will be encouraged to attend the informal chapter meetings every Sunday at 6pm. The only other expectation is to complete 15 hours of community service every semester. We will encourage you to become as involved as possible.

Q: What are the required academics to pledge Phi Gamma Delta?

A:To pledge Phi Gamma Delta as an incoming freshman, you must have a high school GPA of 3.0.  As a returning WKU student, you must have a college cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Q: How much does joining Phi Gamma Delta cost?

A: Your first semester is the most expensive because of one-time initiation fees. The first semester total cost is $567.50.  Every semester following is $465 (subject to change contingent upon chapter vote.) These fees can be paid in installments throughout the semester. If you earn a 3.2 GPA your pledging semester, you will receive a $250 scholarship.

Q: Is there any hazing in Phi Gamma Delta?

A: Absolutely not. If you have any concerns, please contact our chapter president Jake Edmunds at (270) 303-4355. You can also learn about Phi Gamma Delta’s stance on hazing here.

Q: Am I required to live in the fraternity house?

A: There is no formal policy requiring brothers to live in the house; however, the house must always be fully occupied and may require a brother to live in the house. Luckily, living in our fraternity house is not a bad thing at all. Our house brothers average a higher GPA every semester than the chapter as a whole and often enjoy many frequently delivered bake goods from sorority women, barbecues on the back deck, and a great home that they share with 15 other brothers.
