Greek Week Awards

"All the Way Turnt Up" Fonz vs Richie Spring Sing 2010

The Brothers of Phi Gamma Delta were honored this past weekend at the annual Greek Week Awards. The awards ceremony, held in Van Meter Auditorium, honored Greeks across WKU’s campus.

The Delta Colony brought home their fair share of hardware highlighted by both Matt Cooke and Chaz Vittitow being named to the WKU Greek Hall of Fame. The colony also received awards for Campus Involvement and Leadership, Greek Involvement, and Scholastic Achievement. The brothers competed in various events throughout the week, placing third in Greek Feud, Penny Toss, and Banner.

The evening was topped off when Bryan Hartzell, a sophomore from Brentwood, Tenn., was honored with the Colony’s second consecutive Order of Omega Outstanding New Member Award. Colony Advisor Bob Anderegg was recognized with the Randy Bracey Outstanding Advisor Award.

Proud of their strong finish in this year’s Greek Week, the brothers now anxiously await the 2010 Homecoming with the sisters of Kappa Delta and the men of Farmhouse.

The Delta pledge class held the ever first Date a Delta event Wednesday April 14, 2010 in the Mass Media Auditorium. The philanthropic event raised funds to go towards Fiji’s Across America, which is benefiting Alzheimer’s research. After a couple rounds of questions and talent show, the girls began bidding for a one-on-one date with the guys. Three of the brothers riding across country made a surprise appearance and were auctioned off for dates as well. The event concluded with over $500 raised for Alzheimer’s research. We hope to make this an annual event.
