Scholarship is the top priority for the brothers of the XH Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta. They take the value of knowledge very seriously and it shows with the many awards they have brought home since there humble beginnings on October 23rd, 2008. They have had the highest GPA each semester they’ve been on campus and they look forward to carrying on that tradition.
The Scholarship Committee exists to help increase the overall academic performance of the Fraternity by holding each member accountable and providing a means to improve or award that performance, if necessary. One of the biggest benefits that comes from true brotherhood is the ability to exchange knowledge between those who need help and those who can give it. As a fraternity, the struggle of one is the struggle of all. The overall goal of the scholarship committee is to get all of the brothers where they need to be academically, and also to keep them there. Thus the Scholarship Committee tries to give every member an opportunity to succeed academically.
What are we working on now? The Scholarship Committee is in the process of fixing up the study room, creating a Scholarship Program, and meeting with guys to get individual goals for the semester.
Last year the fraternity was able to earn an overall GPA of 3.371 and this year they’re setting the bar even higher. With higher goals, the scholarship committee and the entire fraternity will have its work cut out for them.
